"Why do you believe in the Bible? Isn't it just written by a bunch of guys?" When someone close to Pastor Dean Murphy asked that question, it came down to two words: says who? In this message from 1 Corinthians 5:9–13, Pastor Dean answers it head-on — how we got the Bible we hold, why it is the God-breathed Word and not the opinions of men — and then returns to Paul's hard, practical instruction to the church at Corinth about sin inside the fellowship.
Meet Our Pastor
Pastor Dean Murphy brings over 46 years of ministry experience to New Song Fellowship Church. He previously served as founding pastor of New Song Community Church in Lake Elsinore, California since 1993, and taught at Calvary Chapel Bible College for eleven years. Pastor Dean has led more than 30 short-term mission teams across the United States and internationally. After moving to Hawkins County, Tennessee in 2020, Pastor Dean felt a renewed calling and planted New Song Fellowship Church in 2022. He loves teaching the Bible simply — line-by-line and verse-by-verse — and emphasizes simple worship, beloved hymns, and choruses focusing on Biblical doctrine.
